  1. Do you have any new products?

We have a new products page on our website where we publish information about any new products. You can find our latest new products there: https://www.masterfoodsprofessional.com.au/new-products

  2. Why did you change to a Paper based Squeeze-on for your Tomato sauce?

We take great pride in producing quality, safe products and have been making the original plastic MasterFoods™ Squeeze-Ons for over thirty years. These new paper-based recyclable tomato sauce packs are a product we are trialling to get valuable feedback about this innovation as we work towards more sustainable packaging.

  3. What do the different values in the nutrition information panel mean?

The values in the 100g column informs you of the proportion of nutrients in the product and provides a useful comparison against other products. For example, 5.0g of carbohydrates in the 100g column means that the product contains 5% carbohydrates.

  4. What is the difference between 'use-by' date and a 'best before' date?

'Use-by': Foods must be eaten or thrown away by this date. After this date, these foods may be unsafe to consume even if they appear fine physically. This is because the nutrients in the food may become unstable or a build-up of bacteria may occur. It is illegal to sell foods after a 'use-by' date as they may pose a health or safety risk.
Common 'use-by' foods include milk, sliced ham and shaved meats.

'Best-before': Foods are still safe to eat after the date as long as they are not damaged, deteriorated or perished. The 'best-before' date simply indicates that the product may lose some of its quality after this date passes. Food can be legally sold after a 'best before' date as long as they are not damaged, deteriorated or perished. You can expect these foods to retain their colour, taste, texture and flavour as long as they are stored correctly.
