Where are most of your ingredients sourced from?
Using Australian produce is our first priority.
However, due to seasonality and weather conditions like droughts and fires, we often have to source from other markets such as the US to ensure we can keep supermarket shelves stocked.
To ensure we provide you with the best quality products, we also source from markets renowned for growing the world's best ingredients such as saffron from Spain and Cinnamon from Sri Lanka.
No matter the origin, all of our ingredients are responsibly sourced in accordance with our Supplier Code of Conduct which is informed by the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization's 1998 Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

What is the difference between 'use-by' date and a 'best before' date?
'Use-by': Foods must be eaten or thrown away by this date. After this date, these foods may be unsafe to consume even if they appear fine physically. This is because the nutrients in the food may become unstable or a build-up of bacteria may occur. It is illegal to sell foods after a 'use-by' date as they may pose a health or safety risk.
Common 'use-by' foods include milk, sliced ham and shaved meats.
'Best-before': Foods are still safe to eat after the date as long as they are not damaged, deteriorated or perished. The 'best-before' date simply indicates that the product may lose some of its quality after this date passes. Food can be legally sold after a 'best before' date as long as they are not damaged, deteriorated or perished. You can expect these foods to retain their colour, taste, texture and flavour as long as they are stored correctly.

Is there a chance of allergen cross-contamination in your products?
We have in place systems and processes to manage allergens and minimise their impact all through our manufacturing process so our consumers can safely enjoy our products. Where there is a chance of cross contamination, there will be a warning statement on the packaging in bold print for example:- 'May contain Sesame Seeds and Wheat'
If you do not see allergens on the label anywhere, this means these are not ingredients in the product and there is no chance of cross contamination. Please be advised that Lupins and Tree Nuts are not processed in our facility.

When any allergens are present in a MasterFoods™ Professional product, they will be listed by name in the ingredients list and highlighted in bold print in a 'Contains statement' for example :- Contains Wheat, Gluten, Soy, or 'May Contain Milk'. If you do not see the allergen you are enquiring about listed in the ingredient listing or in a statement on pack, it is not present, and the product is safe to consume.
